Employment Development Department

The Employment Development Department (EDD) is part of the Labor and Workforce Development Agency of the executive branch of the State of California. EDD offers a variety of services to millions of Californians under the Job Service, Unemployment Insurance, Disability Insurance, Workforce Investment, and Labor Market Information programs. As California's largest tax collection agency, EDD also handles the audit and collection of payroll taxes and maintains employment records.

Franchise Tax Board

The the California Franchise Tax Board is responsible for administering two of Californian's major tax programs: Personal Income Tax and the Corporation Tax. We also have responsibility for administering other nontax programs and delinquent debt collection functions, including delinquent vehicle registration debt collections on behalf of the Department of Motor Vehicles, court–ordered debt, and Industrial Health and Safety assessments.
